We have reached the conclusion of Summer Game Fest 2024! Two hours of surprises, updates, and new trailers were presented at Geoff Keighley’s gaming extravaganza, which marked the beginning of the overall agenda for Summer Game Fest 2024.
If you scroll below, you will find a list of everything that was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2024 in bullet point format, and after that, you will get a detailed explanation of how everything transpired.
Having been teased and speculated about for a considerable amount of time, Summer Game Fest 2024 Geoff is finally here, marking the beginning of a weekend packed of presentations and special announcements. Despite the fact that the showcase is basically a hype trailer for the video game industry, which is filling in the marketing void that E3 left behind, Summer Game Fest 2024 has its own hype trailer that reminds us of the titles that we may anticipate.
A number of significant announcements were made at the main keynote, which took place on June 7th. These included the following: Civilization 7, Lego Horizon Adventures, a first look at the Among Us animated series, and the announcement that Riot’s shooter Valorant would finally be available on Xbox and PlayStation. After that, there will be a lot of events that are centered on independent games, as well as major showcases from companies such as Xbox and Ubisoft.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Running crazy. One week after revealing a new gameplay teaser at Sony’s State of Play, Capcom dropped a much more cinematic teaser for the forthcoming Monster Hunter Wilds. MonHun fans will be waiting a while though, as the game isn’t planned for a release until 2025.

One of the games appearing in the video was “Monster Hunt: Wild Game,” which is presumably another “Monster Hunt” property. It demonstrates the thrill of hunting giant beasts across an expansive open world. As players progress on missions to hunt, chase and kill various categories of monsters, they each display individual skills and behavior patterns. The gameplay routinely weaves in elements of strategy, action and exploration, rewarding players who strive to level up their gear, discover new ways to take down prey and find hidden secrets. It’s all about the experiences and interactive fun with famous beasties.
An Update from M-Corp
I believe Skate has the award for the weirdest trailer from Summer Game Fest 2024. No, really. The latest entry in EA’s Skate franchise opened with a bizarre sketch featuring Tim Robinson from I Think You Should Leave. The audience vocalized their bafflement until the end of the act where the lights came up and dashed the hopes of everyone present until the video followed and we all released a grunt of understanding that it was a trailer for Skate. Haha.

Sonic X: Shadow Generations
The year is 2024, the year of Shadow (the Hedgehog). This is a blast of a game — probably one of the better Sonic games I’ve played — and I’m interested to see what Sonic x Shadow Generations, the darker, edgier successor, ends up looking like. With Sonic x Shadow Generations, fans of the hedgehog can join Shadow the Hedgehog to play plenty of new levels, just before the release of the Sonic 3 movie. But we shouldn’t get our hopes up too much expecting to see Keanu Reeves in this one. Sonic X Shadow Generations will be released on Xbox, PC and PlayStation on October 25.

Announced during the Summer Game Fest 2024, “Sonic X Shadow Generations” is an adrenaline-pumping title. Join Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog, this thrilling game brings multiple generations together. I expect a dynamic mix of new gameplay mechanics, tight combat and high-velocity platforming. Each level is carefully designed to give players unique experiences and to test their skills, featuring richly detailed settings. In addition to material that caters to fans of earlier Sonic titles, it adds all new content that keeps things moving and shaking for old fans of the hedgehog as well as newcomers alike.
Among Us: Animated Series
Friday, Summer Game Fest 2024 provided the first title sequence for the animated series Among Us. During the sneak peek, we got a preview of all the individual and their different jobs on the Skeld.
The Among Us series, produced in collaboration with CBS Studios, Among Us creator Innersloth, and Titmouse (the animation studio behind Big Mouth and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) was first announced last year.
In Video: Among Us Animated Series
Announced at Summer Game Fest 2024, the “Among Us Animated Series” takes that popular multiplayer title and follows in its famed footsteps with an all-new format. From the perspective of the Crewmates and Impostors in the spaceship, the series takes us on a thrilling and high-stakes journey. Fans can look forward to gripping storylines exploring the challenges and threats encountered by the heroes on their way to victory, and the so-evil-its axes-are-wicked entity that stalks in the shadows. However part of the primary purpose behind the “Among Us Animated Series” is to favour old and new fans by offering a reply perspective of the beloved game featuring card-carrying versions of the games iconic establishments and its exuberant animation style.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Power Rangers, go! The guys in my bingo sheet for Summer Game Fest didn’t cover a new Power Rangers game, not sure if many others did either, but judging by the excited reaction from fans, I wouldn’t have been surprised to uncover PlatinumGames was working on some new project. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind by Digital Eclipse looks to keep that silly action and humor alive by bringing Power Rangers back into the spotlight. I’m excited to play it on PC and consoles later this year.”

BlumHouse Games
From horror movies to video game. We knew that Blumhouse was getting into the gaming business, but this announcement trailer showcases a great and horrifying slate of upcoming titles that the new company will publish.

Dragon BALL: Sparking!
Here it is, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero will arrive on the 11th of October. This game does have a very much Budokai Tenkaichi series-like gameplay style, but it takes the gaming to “whole new levels.” This is Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is set for release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and personal computers.

Batman: Arkham Shadow
Calling from the depths of the dark, Arkham Shadow rises. About a month ago we were told that a new Batman: Arkham game is under development, and this time it will be exclusive to the Meta Quest 3 platform. Now we have a brief teaser, which lets us know about a July 4th gone horribly wrong in Gotham City. Arkham Shadow doesn’t have a release date yet, only that we should expect it in the fall of 2024.

Thank Goodness You’re Here!
I’m so grateful this has a release date. Panic’s growing publishing banner has a number of exciting upcoming titles in the works, but one of the most enticing products-to-be is called Thank Goodness You’re Here, and that one’s releasing soon. It is set to release in August; on the first day of that month on personal computers, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation. A Steam demo is also available to try, and a new trailer featuring the one and only What We Do in the Shadows’ Matt Berry.

Valorant Cinematic Gameplay Trailer
Riot’s 2020 tactical shooter, Valorant, will soon be non-PC. According to the developer, the console version will have a closed beta on the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S on June 14th. Register here. The beta is said to be limited to the US, UK, Canada, Europe, and Japan with Riot saying it will “possibly roll out to remaining global regions shortly thereafter.” It is unclear when a full launch will happen.

Wanderstop Reveal Trailer
Tea with a unique twist. Wanderstop — a teamaking management game made by the same people who made the Stanley Parable. The video for the game makes it look pretty cozy, at least initially.

Slitterhead Gameplay Trailer
A scary game with an even scarier name. Silent Hill designer Keiichiro Toyama has delivery a brand new game by the name of Slitterhead, first unveiled in 2021. This latest gameplay teaser makes the game look proper terrifying. But if I’m being totally honest, it’s the title of the game that leaves me with goosebumps. The launch date is November 8th

Metaphor ReFantazio
Character with a sprinkle of fantasy An updated trailer for Atlus’s roleplaying game, hilariously titled Metaphor: ReFantazio dropped just minutes ago. Weird title aside, the team behind it is full of folks who worked on the similarly well-known Persona series, so there’s plenty to be excited about for this RPG as well. Available on Xbox, PlayStation and personal computers starting Oct. 11.

Black Myth: Wukong: Pre-Orders now Available
There has to be a better way. Trailer Black Myth: Wukong for the action role-playing game from the Chinese company Game Science. It is based on the popular book Journey to the West. The teaser offered little to no additional information on the gameplay itself, but did feature the Monkey King removing his signature staff weapon from his ear. Odds are you’re not able to get all the way to the top of the stack. Black Myth: Wukong will launch on computer, Xbox, and PlayStation on August 20th.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII: Official Teaser
It’s been a long hunt but we finally know what the next Civilization is. Publisher 2K officially revealed Civilization 7, the first new game in the strategy franchise since 2016, as part of the main Summer Game Fest keynote. What we got instead was a brief teaser that evoked similar gameplay and information of Civilization. However, one thing is for sure: the game won’t actually be out until 2025. It’s also set to arrive on a host of platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
August will provide further specifics, including a “full gameplay showcase,” according to 2K.

LEGO Horizon Adventures Trailer
An especially cute reveal during Summer Game Fest was Horizon’s post-apocalyptic future reimagined in Lego form. The game is called Lego Horizon Adventures, and it looks to be a fun action-adventure game set in the Horizon universe. There are also lots of buildings, and cooperative games, of course. And a couple truly absurd jokes that were appropriate for the numerous Lego video game spinoffs.
Horizon Forbidden West was already released by Lego back in 2022, so this is not the first collaboration between the two. But it appears Sony wants to position the brand as one of its primary draws. The original game is also being adapted into a Netflix show alongside a PS5 (and PS4) sequel.
